To create a successful health coaching business, you need to ask yourself one very important question. How you answer will inform every decision you
make in your business, and will ensure that your business is a clear reflection of who you uniquely are.
Ignoring your personal truth as you make decisions in your business, will lead to struggle, and you’ll always be wondering: “what am I doing wrong?”
Consider the following question. If it’s difficult for you to answer, that’s a good indication you’ve not been aligned with who you are and what you
want. Time to make some adjustments!
What do you stand for?
You’re a health coach and you want to help people get healthy. I know. It’s a noble cause! And tens of thousands of other health coaches, wellness
professionals and holistic practitioners want the same thing.
To be a successful health coach, though, you need to dig deeper and get more specific about what you stand for, so that you will stand out and attract
the clients you want to work with.
Often, it’s not a matter of trying to “figure out” what you stand for, it’s a matter of letting your passion out without worrying about what “they” are
going to think.
Knowing what you stand for defines your business’ unique message and acts as a foundation for everything you create: including private programs,
teleseminars, and your health coaching website.
“I am a stand for young moms to have easy-to-follow nutrition info and the support they need to learn to make quick, healthy meals for themselves, and their families, everyday.”
is far more specific and effective than
“I believe everyone deserves to be healthy.”

In this example, it’s clear that the first health coach specializes in teaching young mothers how to easily make healthy meals. She knows who her
audience is and can gear all of her marketing efforts towards them.
She won’t waste her time and energy speaking at corporate health fairs, scheduling initial consultations with men in their 60s, or taking on middle-
aged women who want to lose weight. She knows these folks would be better served by another health coach.
Instead, she’ll put her energy into writing easy kid-friendly recipes, creating referral networks with Mommy-and-me groups, and blogging about how to
make time in a busy day to put together a healthy dinner.
The clarity of her message and her niche will help her website gain traffic, make it easy for people to refer clients to her and will be her guide when
faced with important business-making decisions.
Her message and target market will help her build a brand, and will be a factor in the look-and-feel of her health coaching website, and in her
A clear health coach is a successful health coach.
Can you imagine how much easier it will be to see your business grow once you’ve clarified this for yourself?
Many health coaches get frustrated because they’re spending so much time and energy trying to be everything to everyone. They will likely fail to be
successful. This doesn’t have to be you!
So ask yourself: what do I stand for? What am I most passionate about? Who would I most enjoy working with?
Honestly answer these questions for yourself – while ignoring the worried little voice in your head – and trust that you know what you’re about, better
Follow your passion, get clear, trust the process and you will begin to easily attract the kinds of clients you want.
