How I turned my health coaching hobby into a thriving business using cleanse programs

Most of us became health coaches because we believe in the power of food, and in helping others get healthier. We start out excited because we know the difference that health coaching can make – but we get stuck when it comes to building a business that can actually support our lifestyle.

Trust me, I get it. I’ll never forget the moment when I realized that I was going to have to close my business. It was heart-breaking for me, and I didn’t know how I was going to tell all the people who believed in me that I just couldn’t figure out how to make this work.

I had worked with clients, many of whom had gotten incredible results, but I was struggling with getting people to consistently sign-up for my months-long coaching program. I had a lot of people on my newsletter list, but most of them weren’t opting into the private coaching programs I had been offering. That’s when I realized I needed to try something different.

Everything changed when I decided to add a short detox program to my offerings.

What I didn’t understand was that there were many people who wanted to work with me – they just didn’t want to invest in a long-term program. They wanted an easy way to make quick changes and start feeling better.

When I started running short cleanse programs, I was BLOWN AWAY by the number of people who started signing up.

The first time I offered a 5-Day Detox to my clients, 37 people enrolled. When I offered it again the next month, 40 people signed up. This was such a huge boost to my self-esteem, and my bank account!

Because I had pre-sold the detox program, once people started signing up I had to get to work. I spent weeks researching detox protocols and trying them on myself. I spent countless hours – and hundreds of dollars – buying groceries and creating recipes to include. I developed a detox protocol and handbook, a suggested meal plan, dozens of recipes, and even support material so that people could have the best experience possible. It was an incredible learning experience, and it was also exhausting.

Even so, I knew I had hit on something big because my detox clients kept coming back, season after season. They also brought their friends and started referring the program to people they knew. In just three short years, I served over 1,000 clients through my cleanse program.

My clients who participated in my detox programs also noticed changes in their health. They ate healthier foods, cut out inflammatory foods, and started paying attention to how their bodies were feeling. My detox programs became a stepping-stone for them to dig deeper and get even healthier. Because they had a chance to get a taste of what it would be like to work with me, I had a much easier time inviting them to become private clients. Eventually, my client openings were completely booked and I even had to create a wait list.

I’ll share exactly what I did to create this program in my free How to Run a Cleanse webinar. More importantly, I’ll tell you the techniques I’ve used to make sure I’m always filling my detoxes and bringing my clients back to the program time and time again. You’ll be able to walk away from this class and start implementing your own detox program right away.

In this free class, you’ll learn:

· What I did to enroll 30, 40 and even 90 clients in my program, time after time, resulting in 1,000 detoxers over the last 3 years

· The number one tool I use to ensure that my detox program sells out each and every time I run it

· The biggest mistake I made when I first started out – and the simple thing I did to fix it that resulted in highly engaged and happy clients

· How my detox program helped me enroll private clients, grew my list, and kept my practice full

Your clients ARE out there waiting for you. In the How to Run a Cleanse webinar, I’ll show you how adding a short detox program will help you find them.

Thanks Julia, this is really a great idea to start small with clients and perhaps convert them to into other coaching offers later after building trust. Getting started has been a real challenge.

    Hi Michelle,

Thanks so much for your response. Yes, I’ve found that inviting clients to work with me in a smaller program really works, and it just makes sense, doesn’t it? I like to check out the person I’m going to work with before I sign up for a big commitment, too. I hear you on getting started being tough. One thing I recommend to a lot of my clients is to start by tracking all the people you know so that when you have an offer, you know who to invite to join you. Have you created something like that yet?
