3 Tips to Speed You on the Road to Health Coaching Success

Are you trying to market your health coaching services but feel frustrated with your lack of momentum?  Youʼre not alone.  Most coaches experience this when getting started.

Maybe you just got things going and then something happened to slow you down: your computer crashed, a family member got sick, or the program you worked so hard to promote got mediocre results.

Here is some encouragement.  The road to health coaching success is usually not flat and straight like a desert road.  Instead, it often looks more like a winding, twisting mountain road.  And while it may not be an easy drive, it can be a rewarding and enjoyable one.

To speed you along, here are 3 tips to help you create your own irresistible health coaching business.

Tip #1 – Have a Reliable Map

Not just any map will do.  Itʼs important to use a reliable source and to have a map that shows details about which turns to take.

A map that tells you “Drive south until you see the big tree next to the cow pasture” is worthless.  But how many of you are following similar advice in marketing your health coaching services?  It looks something like this: “Write articles and post them in your blog regularly to get new clients.”  Or “You can get tons of new clients by posting in Facebook.”

So start with a map from someone who is already successfully doing what you want to do.  There is a lot of vague and unreliable information available, especially when it comes to the topic of online marketing.  You want to follow someone who can lead you to success.

Tip #2 – Be Crystal Clear on Your Destination

If you donʼt know where youʼre going, then any road will get you there.

Do you have specific goals for your health coaching business that you want to achieve?  Have you written those down so you can refer to them often?

There are dozens of ways to make money in coaching.  Think of them as side roads on your path to success.  If your only goal is to make money, youʼll spend all your time taking the scenic drive down every side street and cow path you come across.

But if your destination is to become THE expert in your chosen niche and you have a good map, then you can be crystal clear on what you want to achieve and how to get there.  That brings clarity, focus, and confidence.

And that leads us to tip three.

Tip #3 – Keep Your Destination in Mind at All Times

When you are driving, there are many distractions and temptations along the way begging you to stop, browse, shop, or simply enjoy.

When driving through the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee, I saw lots of opportunities to stop for antiques, food, and fudge. Itʼs not that antiques, food, or fudge are bad.  But those werenʼt my destination.  And I had a specific place I wanted to be within a certain time frame.

Have specific destinations or goals for your health coaching business that you want to achieve in a specific time frame.  Then focus on those goals.

When youʼve achieved one goal, move on to the next.  Itʼs easier to focus on only one goal (or step) at a time.  Donʼt try to work on multiple goals at once or you will quickly lose momentum and focus.

If youʼre frustrated by your lack of forward momentum in your health coaching business, then chances are youʼre not using one or more of the above tips.  Itʼs easy to get distracted and tempted with all the information available online.
